In the early 1990's Soft Sheen and Redken USA developed the MIZANI brand and started with nine products offering a range of premium in-salon hair care products aimed at the African American in-salon market.
In 2001, after being part of the Soft-Sheen Carson group in Chicago where MIZANI was originally created as their Professional hair care brand it then was developed further and became part of L'Oréal USA's Professional Products Division where it operates today on 5th Avenue, New York.
